Poor bastards ! March 4, 2010

Posted by Rambling Man in General Bloggery.

The most horrible way to go has to be the fate that befell these poor unfortunate Russian blokes the other day, when mistakenly having turned the water temperature in their plunge pool up to a dangerous level, they jumped feet first, to their deaths. Boiled alive !!

Which, by the way, was the main punishment in Henry VIII’s time for someone who had been caught poisoning a person. Death by boilage !

This is truly in the category of fates worse than death. As I read the article I noted the occupations of the victims: One man was the director of a home for “old people;” his companion held an equivalent position in a mental institution.

Having known the site manager of a Catholic home for elderly in Denver, and having lived under her regime (and that of her employer), boiling seems a mild fate. -No way of knowing whether these two gentlemen incurred their horrific karma.

As for me I escaped the fatal prison of “senior affordable housing,” never to return. My business is thriving. My dog and I enjoy our new apartment in a truly heterogeneous community.

Thanks for the encouragement. My former neighbors are desperately trying to address their concerns. My best efforts are in support of them at the present, but I am writing some short stories. By the way thanks for the excellent blog!
